During the official visit to Freiburg( Germany) the Mayor of the City of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski signed  the memorandum of understanding which was signed between the German Association for Technical Cooperation(GTZ) and the cities of Freiburg, Skopje, Sarajevo, Podgorica and Zagreb. This memorandum is for implementing the project "Capacity Building for Energy Management in Cities."

 
Among the first projects that the City of Skopje will try to implement and for which it will need assistance through this memorandum is the project that will reduce the costs of street lighting. This project predicts a Dispatch Center which is necessary to monitor the operation of the street lighting defects and energy consumption.

 

The City of Skopje will contribute to increasing the energy efficiency and to saving spared funds which would be used for investment in renewable forms of energy use.Energy efficiency will be applied in the city public institutions in the coming years.

  
During the visit to Freiburg, the Mayor of Skopje, Mr.Trajanovski had a meeting with the Mayor of the City of Freiburg, Mr.Dieter Solomon, on which the two mayors exchanged experiences and opinions regarding the functioning of the  local government and the city administration.
