The Mayor of the City of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski, today on 12.06.2015,

Friday, meet with high school students from the City of Tempe (Arizona), the United States of America,

which traditionally come every year to an international school exchange with their peers from Skopje.


Mayor Trajanovski welcomed the students and wished them a pleasant stay in Skopje, Macedonia.

- Skopje and Tempe have had an excellent cooperation that dates back to 1971, where in the framework of this cooperation so far,

over 150 students from Skopje have stayed in Tempe and vice versa. Besides high school students, these exchanges have also

 included university students, artists, athletes, administration officials, mayors... I hope that during your stay in Skopje

you will acquire new knowledge and experiences, as well as many new friends, said

Mayor Trajanovski.


Skopje (Republic of Macedonia) and Tempe (Arizona, USA) have become sister-cities 45 years ago

when, for the first time, an American city twinned with a city in Eastern Europe.

Last year, at the initiative of Mr. Richard Neuheisel, who is also an honorary citizen of Skopje,

 the Balkan Conference of twin cities took place.

European Agencies Network for citizenship, inclusion involvement and empowerment of communities On 6,7 and 8 June a two and a half day workshop is taking place in Skopje at the Faculty of Architecture, UKIM and hosted by the City of Skopje. The proposed topic of the workshop is “Testing Grounds – Citizens centred and Data driven urban development”.
Local training was realized within the EPICURO project On April 27, 2018, within EPICURO project, the first of the three days dedicated to the local training was realized, on which each of the sessions was attended by 30-40 participants from more than 15 different organs and sectors at the local and central level. The other two terms in which the training was held were 4 and 11 May 2018.
