MAYOR TRAJANOVSKI WELCOMED THE STUDENTS FORM THE SISTER CITY OF TEMPE

The Mayor of the City of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski, today on 12.06.2015,

Friday, meet with high school students from the City of Tempe (Arizona), the United States of America,

which traditionally come every year to an international school exchange with their peers from Skopje.

Mayor Trajanovski welcomed the students and wished them a pleasant stay in Skopje, Macedonia.

- Skopje and Tempe have had an excellent cooperation that dates back to 1971, where in the framework of this cooperation so far,

over 150 students from Skopje have stayed in Tempe and vice versa. Besides high school students, these exchanges have also

included university students, artists, athletes, administration officials, mayors... I hope that during your stay in Skopje

you will acquire new knowledge and experiences, as well as many new friends, said

Mayor Trajanovski.

Skopje (Republic of Macedonia) and Tempe (Arizona, USA) have become sister-cities 45 years ago

when, for the first time, an American city twinned with a city in Eastern Europe.

Last year, at the initiative of Mr. Richard Neuheisel, who is also an honorary citizen of Skopje,

the Balkan Conference of twin cities took place.
